A category C + E class 1 licence allows you to drive HGV / LGV vehicles with a trailer. ​With this licence you can apply for a larger range of class 1 & 2 HGV / LGV driver jobs as soon as you pass your test.
Lawlers Driver Training is based midway between Bradford, Keighley & Halifax.

Courses start from our lorry yard at Crossflats, Bingley near Keighley.
Get a Leeds - Keighley - Skipton train to Crossflats. We are just a 5 minute walk from the station..

At a day and time to suit: 7 days a week training; evening and weekends available.

The Class 1 Course:


  • 20 or 22 hours of intensive training lessons
  • One to one tuition from ex-examiner Rob Lawler in a dedicated category C + E (class 1) training HGV with trailer 
  • Pre course assessment - to identify your strengths and weaknesses
  • ​Tailored lesson instruction to your needs - we prioritise the right areas to ensure they are up to the standard required to pass your class 1 test
  • We practice on the assessment centre routes in Yorkshire - you will know them like the back of your hand 
  • ​We don't think you will need it, but Pass Protection is available on request

The fact is that you are much more likely to pass your test when you are taught by ex-examiner Rob or one of his team.

Because:
  1. Rob's inside knowledge means he knows exactly what it takes to pass the test at the Steeton test centre which covers Bradford, Keighley, Halifax, Skipton, Leeds and North Yorkshire.
  2. You will practice on the same routes that you will take on your test
  3. You will tap into the wealth of many combined years of driving instructor experience in addition to 5 years as an HGV examiner at Steeton.
